HIRING FOR THE POSITION OF SENIOR PROOF READER

Kindly find below the job description;

Position summary

The Senior Proofreader position is responsible for reviewing legal documents for grammar and verbiage corrections.

Job qualifications

Should have experience in Language editing and Style Editing

B.A/M.A/ B.A English or Journalism candidates with writing/ editing flair can also be considered.

Senior Copy Editors/ Master copy Editors from Publishing companies would be a good match

3+ years proofreading experience preferably in a legal, banking or large corporate environment

Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desired.

Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

Must have good organizational skills

Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing

Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude

Proven customer service skills are required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships


Job duties

(* denotes an essential function)

*Identify and correct spelling, grammar, and verbiage errors in complex legal documents.

*Detect formatting and compositional errors in documents.

*Check corrected proofs of legal documents against mark-up for comparison and quality assurance.

Assist the Document Services team with document production and preparation as needed.

Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.

Communicate with supervisor/manager and client on job or deadline issues.

*Oversees proofreading assignments.

*Troubleshoot more complex software or hardware problems

Completes administrative tasks and assignments as assigned by management.

Trains more junior staff members, as needed

Perform Quality Assurance on work of others as requested

Adhere to Williams Lea policy in addition to client site policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
